The Technology Operational Risk Office (Technology ORO) is a firm-wide group within Risk with oversight responsibility for the implementation of the JPMC Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) for Global Technology.  The Technology ORO provides an independent view of Technology & Cyber risk to the firm’s management and Board of Directors.  The Technology ORO interacts directly with executive leadership, key functional areas of Technology and Operational Risk Officers across lines of business. 
Risk Assessment & Standards Support, VP
Accountable for supporting the development of Technology Risk Assessment Standards and various other Operational Risk Assessment areas covering the global Cyber and Technology of JPMC.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and maintain specialized knowledge on high priority technology policies and standards for Global Technology
  • Contribute to the development of an oversight and challenge model for IT technical and IT administrative standards implementation
  • Analyze risk concentration areas, risk profiles, and synthesize data from internal and external sources in order to identify operational risk areas which need to be assessed
  • Develop appropriate communications for various audiences in support of Technology Risk Assessment changes
  • Support IT Project Portfolio risk assessments and draw conclusions on operational risk factors
  • Independently develop/modify/mature technology risk identification, scenario, regulatory and risk analysis processes to meet changing firm requirements and standards.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in technology operations, designing technology solutions, development, management and oversight
  • Technology Risk Management background (3+ years) including risk identification and assessment
  • Significant understanding of technology risk management and control principles (e.g. NIST)
  • Experience in working with regulatory and/or governmental bodies supporting policy, standard and procedure development
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical systems, the business processes they support and analyze the corresponding risks and controls as well as recommend adjustments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, inquisitive nature and comfort constructively challenging the status quo
  • Confidence to formulate, advocate and take ideas forward
  • Highly disciplined, able to work with limited supervision and make independent decisions with a track record of leading by influence in a matrixed, multi-discipline environment
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver results
  • Understanding of ITIL information technology processes such as Access Management, Technology Development, IT Service Continuity Management, Risk Management and others.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and analytical results  into clear and concise executive level presentations
  • Highly Desired:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, Engineering,  Physics, Math or related field; post graduate degree in Technology a plus
    • Previous large-enterprise IT experience
    • Financial services experience and knowledge of the JPMC technical environment and standards is advantageous
    • Previous Operational Risk or Audit experience a plus
    • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Visio a plus
