 Asset Management – Global Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (GFICC)
Morgan Asset Management offers a broad range of strategies across the fixed income spectrum.   As of December 31, 2017, GFICC managed $499 billion in fixed income and currency assets.  Our strategies are managed by teams located across the globe and include broad market, long duration, stable value, intermediate, high yield, emerging market debt, short and ultra short duration, global bonds, structured products, mortgages and tax-aware strategies, plus money market/liquidity strategies.

Business Manager Role

The group is looking for an Analyst/Associate to join the COO function to help drive the business forward.   Functionally the role will report into the GFICC COO but the individual will work with Chief Investment Officers, portfolio managers and client portfolio managers.

The role is based in Columbus, Ohio.
The role's specific responsibilities include the following:
  • Execute on the strategic and financial objectives of the GFlCC business
  • Work closely with the CIOs, their portfolio managers, traders and client portfolio managers plus Distribution to assist in driving the Front Office agenda
  • Provide support for new products from conception through to implementation
  • Provide an effective liaison between the Front Office and various support groups (e.g. Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Audit, HR, Legal, Oversight & Control) to manage both the day to day operations, and to define and help implement key initiatives for the business
  • Review and analyze MIS around revenues, headcount and expenses and input into investment/productivity initiatives
  • Perform analysis and data mining on adhoc issues
  • Oversight to ensure the business is run in an efficient and controlled manner, including tracking against budgets/plans and key financial ratios, and effective management of direct and indirect costs
  • Prepare material for business reviews, governance meetings, and other presentations to communicate performance, strategy and objectives of the businesses to a broad audience
  • Partner with other Business Managers across other regions and products e.g. equities, to share best practice and drive consistency across GIM
  • Support Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery efforts for the business
  • Address adhoc business issues
The successful candidate must be someone who can work independently with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone who has the following qualities:
  • 0-5 year’s work experience
  • Investment management expertise/experience is a strong preference but not an absolute requirement
  • Knowledge of some of the Fixed Income markets,products and processes is essential
