Our Design Foundations team is looking for a Lead UX Engineer to focus on tools for communicating design language, patterns and reusable code artifacts to the wider design team and other engineers. In this role, you will be in a key position to build new collaboration and communication capabilities for a growing, multi-faceted design team and influence the work of designers and engineers across the company. This role will be leading the initiative to build web applications and other tools for product / design / engineering communication. Necessary skills will include: a deep knowledge of efficient data architectures; strategies for cloud data topology; current and emerging web application technologies; CMS implementations; and a working knowledge of native mobile development practices.  You will define solutions and dive into the details of implementation, and will need strong technical and communication skills along with a customer-centric point of view. The ability to work closely with UX designers, product, researchers, and other engineers to deliver a robust and scalable technology product is critical to your success in this role.


UI/UX designers, business developers, graphics designers, user experience research, user strategy, project managers, innovationeers, copywriters and other creative professionals comprise the teams within the Digital Customer Experience organization (DCE). These professionals are responsible for delivering unique and innovative designs and experiences across multiple applications, products and payments offerings. Diverse backgrounds of the team range across design agencies, mobile handset manufacturers, financial institutions, mobile carriers, startups and content providers.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with designers and other engineers to define the technical design and execution of digital asset / content management systems and collaboration platforms;
  • Help define the best way to increase the visibility, usefulness and maintainability of design artifacts as well as UI component code artifacts;
  • Architect efficient data store strategies for flexible access;
  • Deliver both production-quality and proof-of-concept code in a variety of frameworks and tools;
  • Shepherd applications and tools from concept through development and release to internal customers and own the stability of shipped software;
  • Work with technical writers in creating documentation and training resources;
  • Collaborate with design leadership to synthesize the design foundations toolset;
  • Meet with customers and stakeholders to gather feedback on the system you create to improve the value it delivers;
  • Help build and guide the career of a team of engineers

  • 6+ years of work experience in leading web development and/or deep CMS implementations;
  • Strong knowledge of design team techniques and tools such as Sketch, InVision, UXPin and others;
  • Deep experience writing and releasing web UI code on top of Node, Python or other stacks connected to a Database;
  • Experience with popular JavaScript applications frameworks (Angular, React), ES6 and CMS tools;
  • Strong DOM, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript skills;
  • Knowledge of native mobile development best practices is a plus;
  • Understanding of continuous integration principles, functional testing and source control using Git;
  • Strong experience with build system integration;
  • Knowledge of Web Components and Shadow DOM preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of data and cloud deployment strategies;
  • History of success creating and deploying enterprise level software;
  • History of success creating front-end systems;
  • History of success in building and leading a team of engineers;
  • BA in Computer Science or commensurate experience
