Our business
This role is part of CIB Finance & Business Management in J.P. Morgan AG, which supports firm’s Corporate & Investment Banking operations in Germany. As its core business activities, J.P. Morgan AG is acting as Euro clearing provider for the J.P. Morgan affiliates and primarily financial institutions worldwide as well as a regulated custodian for the German investment market, while also acting as client-facing entity for OTC derivatives in distinct client segments
The opportunity is to join as Legal Entity Controller (LEC), supporting the Head of Finance in Germany with focus on IFRS and HGB and act as a workstream lead for LEC related projects.
Key responsibilities:
  • Support Finance projects and act as a workstream lead for relevant topics, such as the implementation of IFRS accounting standards, the development of a multiple GAAP ledger framework, implementation of new products and new regulatory requirements
  • Fulfill quarterly and annually reporting requirements with focus on IFRS and HGB
  • Coordination and preparation of several sections for the Annual Report
We are looking for a candidate with strong IFRS and HGB accounting knowledge and experience in project management.
Essential skills
  • Academic degree in business administration or Finance
  • Strong accounting background (US-GAAP / IFRS / HGB) and respective consolidation requirements with at least 6 years of professional experience
  • Robust understanding of a control environment
  • Good understanding of a multiple GAAP ledger concept
  • Experience in a Finance department or an Audit Company preferable
  • Good project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Ideally multi-cultural / multi-national background, being able to communicate internationally and across lines of business in a complex matrix structure
