The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financial advice to support the CIB’s business strategy and helps to ensure a sound control environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibility are: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, Support Staff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.


Finance & Business Management’s goals are to ensure sound control environments and provide financial advice to support the business strategy. Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.

Job Description

Lead the Banking Analytics team to provide senior management with insightful analysis to support decision making. Purpose is to ensure the success of the Qlik platform within CIB, which includes multiple, high-priority, strategic reporting and business intelligence (BI) dashboards.

Lead key dashboard projects from a Qlik development perspective, with particular focus on dashboard data model optimization, strategic dashboard design/development and ongoing improvements to existing dashboards. Interface directly with stakeholders and provide consultative recommendations to achieve business objectives, while also, directly and independently, building new dashboards leveraging Qlik applications.

The candidate will have significant exposure to senior management and various functional, sales and product group heads across the business which encompasses Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Treasury Services.

Core Responsibilities
  • Directly build and support Qlik dashboards to deliver information and data in ways that help drive the business and create efficiencies
  • Query, analyze and transform complex data sets to optimize dashboard flexibility and performance
  • Interface with business managers and technology teams to design, develop, deploy and enhance Qlik dashboards
  • Ensure all Qlik development is in line with best practices, principals and standards defined by Banking Analytics team and complies with the spirit of the firm’s overall data control standards
  • Provide thought leadership and promote collaboration to advance team’s collective knowledge and expertise on latest technologies and techniques, while also driving current projects to successful completion
  • Champion and progress automation via adoption of business intelligence tools, such as Qlik
  • Partner with the Banking senior management to influence client planning agenda and facilitate collaboration across teams, products, and businesses
  • Produce impactful, high quality analysis and presentations to help senior management determine business strategy and drive business results
  • Partner with technology to develop core Banking systems and applications
  • Provide thought leadership and promote collaboration to advance team’s collective knowledge and expertise on latest technologies and techniques, while also driving current projects to successful  completion

  • Strong analytical and numeric skills, accounting knowledge, ability to interpret financial statements and MIS reports
  • Pro-active and problem solving mindset with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills and demonstrated ability to work across functions with project sponsors and balance the needs of multiple stakeholder groups
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; flexibility and ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
  • Enthusiastic, self motivated and effective under pressure
  • Ability to work well individually and partner effectively
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls with a view to improvement
  • Advanced knowledge of Qlik products( Qlikview, Qliksense, NPriniting, Qlik APIs) 
  • Extensive data modeling experience using Qlik and strong SQL knowledge
  • Understanding of Banking, Markets, Asset Management and other wholesale products
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables & macros)
  • Exposure to Javascript, Cognos, Tableau, Python, R  a plus
