The AuthorConnect team is looking for an experienced software engineer to join our Agile/Lean technologists. Your role will utilize your expertise in application development and design to create solutions for our business problems. Tests are something you understand the importance of and are things you take a disciplined approach to. In fact, you’ll be using practices like Test Driven Development to ensure a high quality delivery of our application. Aside from coding, you’ll have a hand in both making and deploying our application as our team is a DevOps one. As one who is experienced with and loves problem solving, you’ll also have the chance to share your understanding with the junior developers on our team. In fact, this is something you’ll be doing often. As part of a team that pair programs constantly, you’ll be matched with another engineer on the team; we adore knowledge sharing and learning from each other. You’ll also be open to picking up new ideas, concepts, and technologies – you’re intellectually curious and believe in constant learning. You’ll be instrumental in designing, developing, testing code, and solving difficult issues as well as serving as an example to the junior developers on the team. Collaboration is a large part of our process and strong communication skills are important. We love the way we work and hope you’ll be able to join us leading by example to help spread our unique culture across J.P. Morgan.

Hands on experience with CSS, JavaScript, HTML, Modern JavaScript Framework, Java/J2EE, SQL (Oracle or MySQL), WebServices using web application framework (Java, Spring, Ruby, Node), UNIX/Linux operating systems.

Desirable but not essential: jBPM – Business Process Management (BPM); Spring Framework; DevOps; Test Driven Development; Testing Framework (Jasmine, Junit); React; Agile Development (Lean); Open to Pair Programming
