The Technology Resiliency Management team is responsible for ensuring that CIB demonstrates, and improves, the resiliency of its applications. Our team interacts with our partners in Application Development, Corporate and Global Infrastructure teams. The CIB business relies heavily on having stable and resilient applications to be able to provide clients and governments with a first class service, all the time.


Our team understands regulatory requirements, drives company policy and engages with support teams to ensure that the 1000+ applications design, build, test and, in an incident, execute recovery plans efficiently and effectively.

  • Running the Database Automated Failover project. This project is rolling out the implementation of Oracle and SQL Server automated failover capability provided by the central DBA team.
  • Working with Global Incident Management (GIM) and GTRM to ensure processes and procedures are in place to handle resiliency events
  • Communicating and training CIB Production Owner (PO) and Application Owner (AO) community on database automation capabilities.
  • Partnering with the Global Technology Infrastructure, Chief Development Office, Corporate, Production Owners and Application Owners to ensure delivery is efficient and effective.

  • Applications or infrastructure development with focus on databases
  • Proven experience of delivering complex projects through cross-functional teams against hard deadlines and other constraints

  • Experience in a production / controls role

  • Understanding of Resiliency and the associated risks and issues and will be responsible for working closely with other technologists across the globe
  • Ability to engage production and application development teams to understand challenges and blockers to the implementation of database automation
  • Understanding of how policy fits into the controls framework and knowledge of how breaks are recorded and managed through to closure
  • Excellent communication skills and will be at home explaining the meaning, progress and challenges in execution of database automation.
  • Experience of incident management processes and procedures along with an appreciation for the need to have accurate and reliable data
  • Experience executing projects using various methodologies
  • Experience driving improvements globally across the change and release life-cycle
  • Experience interacting with mid-level management, with proven ability to positively influence people at a variety of levels
  • Experience in presenting to senior management, focusing on key messages and clear delivery
  • Ability to extract and review data from multiple sources, identify inconsistencies, resolve conflicts, and determine trends and areas for improvement.
