The Global Engagement group (GE) is seeking an Associate to work with the Vice President of Global Engagement in New York and other members of the GE and International Government Relations (IGR) teams globally. The position is based in New York. Global Engagement builds and leverages institutional relationships with foreign governments and the diplomatic community, multilateral government meetings, trade associations, think tanks and international policy forums to highlight and advance the firm’s policy priorities and other corporate responsibility initiatives. It works closely with the Federal Government Relations and IGR teams to coordinate messaging and outreach initiatives aligned with the firm’s business goals, especially with regard to international trade and investment issues. GE also provides analysis to firm executives on geopolitical developments around the world, and manages an internal speaker series – Global Voices – which aims to offer employees the opportunity to learn from business and political leaders about social, economic and political issues affecting the global community. Additionally, the GE team manages and supports the JPMorgan International Council, an advisory body that meets annually to discuss global economic and political trends.

The Global Engagement Associate will:
• Support the planning and organizing of internal meetings and conference calls, as well as developing needed materials
• Support the planning and organization of Global Voices events, as well as developing needed materials and managing logistics for speakers and audience
• Support the planning of the International Council communications and events
• Maintain calendars for global events and senior executive travel
• Working with the GE team maintain and develop internal and external distribution lists
• Prepare briefing memos for team and firm leadership meetings with government officials, and participate in meetings with such officials as necessary
• Work closely with the Compliance teams to maintain tracking of meetings with government officials
• Assist in the preparation of presentations and correspondence
• Support GE efforts to work with trade organizations and industry partners on policy and regulatory issues of importance to the firm
• Provide support as needed for broader Corporate Responsibility initiatives, as directed
• Extremely detail-oriented and deadline-driven
• Excellent organizational, administrative, and time-management skills
• Ability to independently manage programs and solve problems
• Experience interacting with senior management and prioritizing time-sensitive tasks
• Demonstrated international affairs experience including understanding of global political and economic issues, financial services and business issues, government and policymaking.
• Bachelors degree in relevant field. Foreign language skills desired but not necessary
• 3+ years of total relevant experience
• PowerPoint, Excel, and Sharepoint experience preferred
• Able to exercise good judgment and proven to have impeccable integrity
• Relationship management experience
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Proven to have a strong work ethic and be a team player
• Travel and occasional extended hours may be required
