Job Description
The role of Product Development is to partner with the broader team to set the strategic direction of the business initiatives. Responsibilities for these job requirements are specifically for the CFS Client Service Workspace (CSW). The CSW platform consolidates client data, exception, and workflows across operational, commercial, and relationship management systems to support the global Client Service and Middle Office teams. This role will be responsible for building out the platform via business sponsorship to allow Middle Office and Service users to actively service their assigned relationships and proactively support operational workflows. 
The ideal candidate is an energetic strategic thinker, with deep knowledge of Custody and Fund Services who can define, develop and deliver market leading products that enhance client satisfaction, support sustainable business growth and deliver positive shareholder value add (SVA). He /she would be expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and a leader within the CFS Business and have a thorough understanding of the investment and settlement lifecycle for trades, cash and asset serving events. Must be familiar with clearing/settlement and accounting principles
 in order to apply best practices to improve the Service and Middle Office management platform.
The role will also include opportunities to lead other related projects supporting the CFS internal teams, working closely with the other development groups as we continue to expand the client offering. The prospect must have a thorough understanding of custody, fund services fundamentals including securities operations
The candidate should also be resourceful and execution-driven. Strong cross-functional/business collaboration skills are required as the candidate will work across multiple teams within the bank. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills are a must.
The role will be based in New York, but will involve interaction with J.P. Morgan Custody Front Office, Middle Office, Operations and Technology teams across the globe.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Drives improved pro-active management of our clients through integration with golden source systems by creating dashboards and workstation views that allow internal Middle Office and Operations to be an Advocate for the client in JP Morgan
  • Develop a strategy to facilitate synthesis of information into IFAs, IFIs client opportunities. ‘Create trends and analysis to what the client sees.
  • Utilizes core infrastructure and golden sources to push information to internal users to manage client exceptions across the product lifecycle
  • Create systematic tracking of actions and data views in order to provide better metrics on processes and clients, identifying commercial and operating  opportunities for process improvement, visibility to management, and controls around processes where appropriate
  • Long term eliminate access to multiple mainframe systems and applications by replacing SOPs via Workstation views.
  • Continually identifies process improvements to eliminate manual processes
  • Provide innovative solutions where there are new client requirements or potential new Business
  • Coordinated development and production releases by strategizing and prioritizing business plans via user feedback, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure product investment and roadmap is communicated and understood clearly, and aligned to commercial business objectives across regions.
  • Conduct business process review and implement adequate process controls and checklists
  • Defines/drives the strategic direction of the Client Management Tools business functions
  • Aligns stakeholder priorities to the broader business/function strategy
  • Produces an effective budget proposal with succinct, tangible benefits for stakeholders to approve; integrates budget into a clear delivery roadmap.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills:
  • Ability to understand a diverse and complex technology and operations infrastructure
  • Relevant industry qualifications are a plus  (CFA, FRM etc.)
  • Ability to devise creative solutions in response to client requests and strategic product goals
  • Ability to map proposed product solutions against a diverse and complex technology and operations platform
  • Organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage many tasks at once in a structured manner
  • Execution skills - the role requires strategic thinking to define and design our service platform – combined with accountability and strong execution skills to drive and implement development.
  • Strong team player with an ability to pull together multiple partners in a productive virtual team environment
  • Ability to self-prepare quality materials and present confidently in multiple settings
  • Willingness to constructively challenge where required and work collaboratively with partners
  • Agility to adapt to a changing environment and demonstrate delivery of  critical business goals
  • Being a self-starter with strong leadership skills
  • Previous product development or product management experience building toolsets for users a plus
  • Project Management Skills, must be organized and able to deconstruct a project into achievable deliverables
  • Excellent Visio, PowerPoint and Excel knowledge
  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate multiple streams of work simultaneously and effectively resolve issues and conflicts to ensure timely delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively target messages to different audiences
  • Ability to drive an agenda and consensus across multi-functional and cross-regional teams
