Legal Department Description:
The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation.  The department also includes the Office of the Secretary.
Legal is organized by Practice Groups that conform to the organization of the Firm's lines of business (LOBs) and corporate staff areas, allowing the legal staff to work closely with specific groups on a daily basis. Each line of business has an LOB General Counsel, who is the Practice Group Head and who reports to the Firm's General Counsel. This structure provides the means for the legal teams to communicate legal and regulatory changes to the businesses and staff areas, and for the LOBs and staff areas to communicate business developments that have legal or regulatory implications to the legal teams in a timely manner. 
Legal Data Services Group Description:
The Legal Data Services Group is part of the Legal Firmwide Initiatives function. Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and operationalize methods and solutions for improving efficiency and effectiveness search capabilities across Legal
  • Serve as a resource for Legal in the technology domains of AI, machine learning, NLP, and advanced search
  • Collaborate with technology and strategy teams from within the businesses to find methods and vendors to help deliver on Legal Data Services agenda
  • Source and curate external and internal legal content in support of these objectives
Position Description:
The Legal Data Services Group is seeking an Operations Director to implement advanced approaches to content search within Legal.  This highly visible position will work with all legal Practice Groups around the world, Legal Technology and report to the Head of Legal Data Services.
  • Manage and run the Legal Tech Innovation Forum, including documentation of evaluation methodology, meeting calendar development, stakeholder management, project planning, metrics and reporting
  • Lead team that provides business engagements for the department, including client relationship management, interface with knowledge product development team, Legal Services and Technology
  • Participate in wireframe development for all knowledge products
  • Develop and implement data ingestion, curation, project planning, statements of work, metrics and reporting
  • Work with potential customers of Legal department information assets to determine potential use cases and business value to JPMC
  • Bachelor required, advanced degree, including MBA, preferred
  • Financial services background including Compliance, Legal or Risk experience ideal
  • AI, Machine Learning, NLP or knowledge management background a plus
  • Financial management skills, history of managing budget of $10M plus ideal
  • Minimum10 years of relevant program management experience required, including for large technology build-outs and deployments with accompanying process changes
  • Strategic decision making and problem solving skills required
  • Must be highly organized and able to execute on multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Minimum 5 years proven team building and leadership experience
  • Professional maturity, strong executive-level communication skills and proven track record in collaborating with diverse stakeholders and influencing change
  • Effective under pressure and accountable for overall program
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with a strong interest in learning, creating efficient processes and a seamless user experience
