The Asia Pacific (“APAC”) Legal Finance Manager is a position that works across APAC supporting the Head of Legal in the various jurisdictions.  The successful candidate will contribute by leading efforts to manage expenses while enhancing productivity and efficiency, as well as ensuring a disciplined allocation and measurement of investments. This position will directly manage a small team based in Hong Kong and report into the Legal Finance Manager in EMEA, together with supporting regional senior Legal Business Management.



  • Manage the overall operating expenses for APAC Legal, working closely with the Regional Business Management as well as Head of Legal in the various APAC jurisdictions and their teams;

  • Provide consolidated APAC Legal reporting for both Internal and External spend to the business leaders that includes useful and relevant insights into business activities;

  • Develop and present analytical reporting that gives Regional Senior Management insight into drivers of Internal and External spend and make recommendations for expense improvements;

  • Drive expense management programs and goals including influencing Regional Senior Management to achieve those goals;

  • Provide strategic financial advice and guidance;

  • Lead and/or assist with projects related to expense and Legal Finance technology initiatives across APAC Legal, regionally and/ or globally


  • Strong and established financial and analytical experience, preferable in the financial services industry

  • Experience in leading expense management initiatives;

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; Hyperion Essbase, SAP & BO preferred

  • Demonstrate leadership abilities with track record of driving results through matrix organization

  • Excellent communications skills required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to make tough decisions, effectively push back where appropriate and challenge the status quo

  • Strong organizational skills including good judgment and decision making abilities

  • Flexibility to manage multiple projects within a fast paced environment and within tight timelines

  • Highly motivated, self directed
