Job Summary
As a member of the Capital Controller’s team the individual’s responsibilities will include:
Preparation of in depth monthly and quarterly RWA analytics to enable senior management to understand key trends and drivers across capital ratios as well as forecast to actual variance analysis
Coordinate RWA review and sign-off by LOBs and ensure quality variance commentary
Develop a strong understanding of regulatory capital rules (Basel 3 Standardized and Advanced approaches) along with related ratios and metrics to enable delivery of core reporting and analysis and act as subject matter expert on RWA
Prepare and review all RWA related external reporting and disclosures (10K/Q and Pillar 3) and ensure adherence to the firm’s external reporting attestation framework
Actively pursue the resolution of RWA issues identified by partnering with relevant teams including Basel Measurement and Analytics, LOBs and Regulatory Policy to ensure compliance with Basel rules and consistent treatment of RWA across the firm
Support the BAU BIR/audit reviews, RCSA requests as well as the semi-annual Basel Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS)
Respond to ad-hoc analytical requests from key partners such as Firmwide Regulatory Reporting and Analysis, LOBs, Corporate Financial Reporting, Regulatory Policy as well as senior management
Prepare materials and present at the monthly firm wide Basel Capital Controllers Committee meeting
Assist in firmwide initiatives to ensure delivery of a consistent and sound operating model as it applies to the production of RWA and compliance with the Basel Regulatory Capital framework across the firm by developing and syndicating guidelines documents
Support automation initiatives pertaining to RWA reporting and attestation to ensure the design and build requirements meet business needs
The position involves interaction with many teams across RCMO and the firm including LOB and Corporate finance functions, BM&A, regulatory policy, audit, and technology. The ability to work efficiently, communicate effectively and influence across these boundaries will be one of the keys to success.
