Our Global Service Centers (GSCs) are strategically positioned in Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to support the firm’s operations regionally and globally. The centers provide comprehensive strategic support across technology and business operations processing to all lines of business and the corporate functions.
Function Overview
Global Finance India (GFI) is the combined LOB aligned finance team which is located in India and is part of JPMorgan’s offshore center (GSC). Finance started leveraging the offshore center in 2002 and in the following 15 years has grown the presence to ~2000 team members situated in Mumbai and Bangalore. The team supports the Finance and Business teams across the firm with the concentration of support being for the Corporate Controllers and the LOB Finance teams.
GFI supports four main “pillars” of work across the teams; Finance Operations, Controllers, Planning & Analysis and Business & Sales support. The teams in India are all aligned to their respective LOB Finance teams and the sales & business teams they support. Locally the teams are managed under a common governance and oversight framework. With representation across the pillars from most LOBs the unique positioning of GFI allows cross LOB interaction and sharing of best practices.
Position Summary
The candidate will be a member of the Control & Program Management Office team within Global Finance India, and will be responsible for driving the Technology Solutions agenda for GFI.
The successful candidate will have ownership and responsibility of the Application development, Robotics program management, Infrastructure solutions and Quality teams in GFI. Application team creates User tools and utilities primarily in Excel and Access, Data Visualization and dashboarding in QlikView and Tableau and collaboration and workflow tools using SharePoint. Robotics Process Automation team provides opportunity evaluation and program management support for Robotics implementation. Infrastructure solutions team partners closely with lines of business and technology to understand the business requirements and provide program management support to roll out Firmwide deployments. Quality team uses process improvement tools and practices to look at processes end-to-end and recommend a better way of accomplishing the business objective.
The candidate will be expected to understand the Finance processes thematically, identify pain points and process improvement opportunities, and facilitate implementation of the right solution to deliver tangible business benefits with a sense of urgency. He/she will set the vision for this organization and grow this into a Finance-centric Tech CoE, providing solutions which are tailor-made and effective. As a part of this process, the candidate will collaborate extensively with business and technology counterparts across the organization to explore new tools and technologies and apply them in Finance. Working with functional and location managers, this role will lead the Technology Solutions agenda through engagement with local, regional and global Fintech forums and community across Finance and Technology.
  • Bachelor’s or Post graduate degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business with 12+ years relevant experience
  • Good understanding & appreciation of Technology and its application in Finance processes
  • Experience & proven leadership in Quality/LEAN/Process Improvement/Project Management space
  • Superior analytical skills and excellent business judgment
  • Project management & prioritization skills - ability to work through change
  • Effective problem solving, decision making capabilities and influencing skills
  • Ability to understand and develop solutions based on customer requirements
  • Proficient in drawing process maps, writing report & creating scorecards
  • Passion – Self motivated and positive personality
  • Team Player - ability to work with various cross-functional and cross -location teams
  • Strong communication, inter personal and relationship management skills
  • Customer centric and result oriented
  • PC proficiency with good MS Office Suite skills (especially Excel, Power point, MS projects)
