Chase Pay is a key growth opportunity for JPMorgan Chase. It is a digital wallet that provides simple, rewarding and secure buying experiences for more than 60 million Chase card customers. Chase Pay selling and marketing efforts will be focused on most frequently shopped merchant categories; in particular, Fuel/Convenience, Grocery, Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR), and Specialty Retail. Chase Pay launched in Q4 2016 and will follow a continuous and targeted roll-out across merchants in the four prioritized categories. As such, targeted marketing to the customer in the merchant environment (refer to as shopper marketing) will play a critical role in driving awareness, trial, and habitual usage of Chase Pay at merchant partners. It will precede and complement Chase Pay national advertising efforts. This is a new capability within JP Morgan Chase so we are retaining a shopper marketing agency to assist in our strategic and execution efforts.
The Associate Shopper Marketing Manager will have responsibility for execution of Shopper Marketing programs, provide process support for the Chase Pay Merchant Marketing team, and with the shopper marketing agency and vendors on day to day marketing tactics. The Associate Shopper Marketing Manager is expected to work collaboratively and effectively cross-functionally, and especially with the Chase Pay Merchant Relationship and Consumer Marketing teams, to deliver effective marketing plans to drive usage and experience among our mutual customers.
Review merchant offers with Rewards Governance teams for feedback and approvals
Work with consumer marketing team members and marketing services on deliverables in support of merchant marketing programs: statement credit language, creative and timelines for Chase owned assets (i.e. emails, ATM), customer service reports, landing page/disclosures
Assist in the processing creative through internal legal and compliance systems
Work with Shopper Marketing Manager and Merchant Marketing leads on PO requests
Custom and Playbook Merchant Marketing Plans
Assist Shopper Marketing Manager with agency day to day deliverables – review creative for various marketing tactics and manage against timelines
Meet with industry vendors to understand shopper tactics and their potential application for Chase Pay merchant marketing programs
