Department Description
The Corporate Investment Bank, Know Your Customer (KYC) team plays a critical role in ensuring that as an organisation, we are compliant with multiple regulations, in order to protect the bank’s reputation and financial assets.  JP Morgan has developed their Global Operating Model to provide a business wide process for the delivery of KYC across all Lines of Business in every Region.
As part of Banking Operations, the Wholesale Client Onboarding Team (WCOB) operates in close partnership with Sales, Operations, Credit, Legal and Compliance to provide efficient and timely on-boarding, renewal and remediation of client relationships to the JP Morgan infrastructure.
Job Summary
In order to support volumes, the KYC Quality Control team are expanding the Bournemouth footprint. This leadership position will be reporting to the Bournemouth QC Location Lead and oversee the daily operation of the New Business Checking teams to provide a seamless service to our business partners. The successful candidate will lead by example and promote excellence; diversity, quality, respect, inclusivity and drive personal development. Excellent written and verbal communication is essential, as is relationship building through frequent interaction with stakeholders such as the KYC Maker Managers/Senior Case Leads, GFCC and regional teams. A risk and controls mind-set within an operational environment requires strong organisation, sound judgement with the ability to make difficult decisions, and partnership to ensure all parties are working to deliver the strategic agenda. WCOB is a frequently evolving and dynamic environment, adaptability and change management skills are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of 2-3 Team Leads and respective teams across different LOB’s (Banking, TS, Markets & IS)
  • Tracking and reporting of KPI’s; utilisation of management scorecards and controls reporting
  • Daily capacity and pipeline management according to business demands
  • Management of escalations, identification and closure of controls gaps
  • Engagement in upcoming operational and technical changes, highlight potential key risks
  • Provide input in to strategic planning and target operating model
  • Upward support to management and integration with regional peers
  • Encourage and lead staff initiatives to meet Global quality and throughput targets
  • Effective leadership; coaching of Team Leads to develop team members
  • Actively build and manage relationships with functional partners/stakeholders
  • Keep informed of any changes to processes and procedures, regulatory change and encourage open dialogue within the team


Skills Required
  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Knowledge of financial industry
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management, organisational, risk management and prioritisation skills
  • Creative solution and problem solving skills with a logical approach
  • Ability to mobilise resources, navigate internal networks and negotiate at a senior level
  • Experience in relationship building and managing change
  • Knowledge of Corporate Investment Bank and its associated business
  • KYC/AML/Compliance or Audit experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
