The Corporate & Investment Bank Treasury (“CIBT”) group is a critical function within CIB F&BM.  It is responsible for managing the liquidity and capital positions of the Corporate & Investment banking businesses, establishing transparent and market-based funds transfer pricing policy, and developing methodologies and metrics to improve the collateral and liquidity risk management capabilities of the investment bank.  CIBT interacts heavily with Corporate Treasury in developing consolidated liquidity risk metrics and coordinating analysis and reporting for regulators on related topics. Additionally, the group is responsible for managing the CIB’s Funding Valuation Adjustments (“FVA”) and Debit Valuation Adjustments (“DVA”).  

We are looking for a candidate to join CIBT FVA Product Control Team. The CIBT Product Control priorities will be focused on the Daily, Monthly and Quarterly production of FVA balances, Risk and PL for the CIB. Other responsibilities include P&L and Risk reporting of CIBT’s Term Funding Loans and Deposits facing CIB LOB’s that are valued at MtM.  

Specific responsibilities of the CIBT FVA Product Control Team:
  • Responsible for ‘FVA’ front to back reporting in CIB.
  • Ownership of the daily P&L and Risk reporting process for ‘FVA’ on FVO liabilities
  • Responsible for producing a complete, accurate and explained daily P&L, both from a Ledger and Risk perspective.  
  • Key point of contact for the Front office (located in New York and London), Market Risk, VCG and Financial Control to ensure that queries are explained and issues closed out.
  • Partner/work closely with LOB controllers to understand the booking structure/Impact on ‘FVA’ and ‘OCI’ impact on large notes issuance
  • Partner with the Market Risk teams and FO to ensure daily risk is complete and signed off.
  • Partner with Financial Control to review the balance sheet ensuring accounts are reconciled and substantiated.   
  • Understanding of the accounting, tax and regulatory treatment of the products supported and how developments will impact FVA.
  • Partner closely with Middle Office to ensure that Finance requirements are considered as part of the transaction flow and that trade activity is effectively controlled from a P&L perspective.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, stability and the quality and timeliness of the service delivery to the business. 

  • Good Understanding of Financial Market products / instruments and Controller mindset
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related; MBA a plus
  • Previous derivatives product control experience would be an advantage
  • Good technical skills (P&L, Risk, Control concepts, Accounting) 
  • Energetic team player with the ability to build strong working relationships within the team and can partner with multiple stakeholders (Trading Desk, Market Risk, VCG,  MO etc) effectively
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and investigative problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and bring tasks to complete closure
  • Good team player with the ability to create an effective working relationship with trading desk and other stakeholders
