Job Responsibilities & Activities 
Our Team:
  •  The Market Manager leads an integrated team of Bankers, Investors and support staff who are responsible for new client acquisition and retention in the market. This team acquires and services clients through a broad knowledge of investments, banking, trust services and financial planning.  This role is primarily responsible for the management and the strategic growth of these markets overall but also is accountable for the client experience and engaging our resources to deliver a complete wealth management solution to the clients within the Asia regulatory framework. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, develop and nurture this market with J.P. Morgan Private Bank Asia.
  • Strategic planning in growing the team and market opportunities across Indonesia
  • Overall responsibility to lead and develop a team of Bankers, Investors and Support staff
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure Bankers are leveraging specialists (Investor, Capital Advisor, Wealth Advisor) to ensure interdisciplinary expertise for our most complex clients
  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure systematic, forward thinking and disciplined approach to sales management, client acquisition, and servicing UHNW clients 
  • Responsible for ensuring the team utilizes a consistent and effective approach to sales and implementation of investment, banking and trust/estate products
  • Ensure an effective approach to hiring and retaining the best talent, performance management, talent management, training and integration of new joiners within the market
  • Supervise, coach, and train junior staffs to maximize their individual contribution to the team as required
  • In addition to day-to-day management of the coverage market, this role should also grow the team’s book of business and will be responsible for prospecting and developing leads for new clients
  • Build trust and develop relationships with select clients to help the client advisor team manage particularly large or complex relationships
  • May require regular travel into coverage regions to foster relationships
  • Monitor ongoing and team’s performance against financial and other targets – number of client relationships, net new asset, net new revenue, account performances etc; as well as responsibility in growing the team
  • Work together with other teams in meeting all compliance, regulatory, risk management, operational, and due diligence requirements and compliance with internal policies
  • Responsible for working with other team members on client sponsorship / Know Your Client
  • Responsibility for budget planning and the compensation process for the market
  • Responsibility for the teams performance of its obligations under the employee certification regime/ rules
  • Responsibility for compliance with the firm’s obligations in relation to its management responsibilities
  • Responsibility for monitoring effective implementation of policies and procedures for the induction, training and professional development of the team
  • Responsibility for the allocation of all prescribed  responsibilities within their business
  • Responsibility for overseeing the adoption of the firm’s culture in the day-to-day management of the team
  • Responsibility for the development and maintenance of the firm’s business model across the coverage market
  • Promote a culture of Risk & Control in line with the firms standards & expectations
  • Champion the firms core standards for culture & conduct


Personal Attributes & Requirements 
  • University degree holder and / or with 20+  years of professional experience in a similar capacity
  • Fluency in English required with knowledge of other languages such as Mandarin or Bahasa a definite plus
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong presentation skills, an excellent communicator with client facing experience a definite advantage
  • Strong understanding of the needs and sensitivities of clients (private individuals and families)
  • Proven track record on investment sales and / or relationship management performance
  • Able to work under minimal supervision; adaptable to work in demanding environment
  • Detail-oriented and results-focused
  • Strong knowledge of local regulatory policies and guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of relevant financial markets and instruments
  • Appropriate local regulatory qualification and licenses
