As a member of our Software Engineering Group you will dive head-first into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to improving the design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming that goes into creating high quality software and new products. You’ll be tasked with keeping the team and other key stakeholders up to speed on the progress of what’s being developed. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile frameworks-is key. And best of all, you’ll be working with and sharing ideas, information and innovation with our global team of technologists from all over the world.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems 
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
This role is to work on a regulatory reporting platform in Investment Banking Technology as a Application Developer in
the development team. This role is based in Mumbai and is a part of a global regulatory reporting team which is spread
across Asia, EMEA and North America and reporting to the Asia lead. Candidate will be expected to have a strong
technical background, possess excellent inter-personal skills and individual contributors.
Specific Responsibilities include:
· Develop, Deploy and support large-scale distributed applications in a mission-critical production environment
· Translate business requirements to a high level technical design and implementation
· Develop test plans and perform code reviews
· Monitor milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify / mitigate risk
· Excellent Core Java J2SE with Java 6/7
· Excellent Java Memory Management Fundamentals
· Java Frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate
· XML Parsing Exposure
· Experience developing SOA services (REST & XML/RPC)
· RDBMS experience preferably Oracle 11, including PL/SQL and stored procedures
· Source code control software
· Familiarity with the agile and scrum methodologies
Desirable (but not essential):
· Investment Banking Asset Exposure
· Working understanding of front-end HTML/JS technologies such as JQuery, and AJAX
· UNIX shell scripting
· Continuous Integration Servers (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity)
· Maven
· Ext JS or other JS toolkits
Graduate with Bachelor of Engineering degree having around 6--8 years of relevant experience
