The Global Equities Technology stack at J P Morgan is going through a strategic transformation (front to back). This is a multi-year program where the India Tech teams are involved heavily.  The technology stack used is predominantly Core Java, C# .NET, C++ and Sybase. We are hiring in the areas of Front Office, Middle Office, Risk Management and Client Intelligence Technologies.
The India Equities Technology organization is 1000+ within JPMorgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) organization and covers the following functions
  • Execution Services Technology comprising of:
    • Electronic Trading Technology.
    • Flow Sales and Trading.
  • Risk Management and Structured products
  • Markets Risk and P&L reporting
  • Trade Management
  • Derivatives and FX Processing and Accounting
  • Securities Processing Technology
  • Reconciliations Technology
  • Equities Fixed Income and Financing Technology
  • Global Clearing Technology
We are the Global Trading Data and Analytics Team responsible for capturing and storing market data on a tick-by-tick basis for all instruments in the Equity asset class for all markets across the globe, and producing analytical products for our internal traders and external clients based on this data.  Our goal is to build the next generation data and analytics platform to benefit numerous lines of business effectively, efficiently and with optimal flexibility.
The Tick+ team, within the larger Global Trading Data and Analytics group, is focused on the capture and storage of market data for all instruments in the Equity and Futures asset classes, for all markets across the globe, as well as calculating and distributing real-time and historical analytics to our various clients.  The team currently supports over 60 clients within various lines of business in the investment bank.  These real-time and historical analytics are central to our products, which provide clients with intelligent analytical tools in the pre-trade, intraday and post-trade phases of trading, and server to further strengthen the firm's position as a market leader in this space.  We are headquartered in New York with teams in London, Hong Kong, Glasgow and Mumbai.  Our working environment is high-energy, team-oriented, respectful, collegial and driven to excel.
About the Position
The position is for an experienced software developer that exhibits strong technical skills and experience in Q/Kdb+ on the Linux platform.  This person will contribute to the development of pre-trade, intraday and post-trade analytical products in this space.  This is a critical role that will have a significant impact on various lines of business within the investment bank.  The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development and enhancement of these products; will ensure consistent functional and technical design; will deliver clear, concise technical design documentation and code; will be involved in the full project life cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, testing and production rollout.
Our products are built in Java and Kdb+ and use a variety of 3rd party products and technologies.
You are smart, innovative, talented, resourceful, self-motivated, high-energy and passionate. You have the ability to work both individually and part of a team, contributing to the overall success of the platform.  You possess at least 2 years hands-on experience with Kdb+ within a financial institution doing similar work in any business line (fixed income, equities or any type of derivatives) and have developed areas of significant technical and business expertise.  You have been exposed to some of the following: real-time market data, pre-trade analytics, post-trade analytics, order management, algorithmic trading, enterprise data warehouse, FIX protocol, web services. You are an efficient programmer who provides an excellent level of service for your production environments and can debug and troubleshoot ambiguous issues. You can multitask and work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.
