The Australia Credit team focuses on execution of corporate finance transactions, including acquisition and leveraged finance for Australia/NZ CIB clients. The team works closely with business partners from Global Corporate Banking, Debt Capital Markets, the Corporate and Investment Bank and is the primary contributor and driver of credit analytics including risk rating determination and return analysis, industry assessment (working together with internal and external industry specialists) with a key focus on due diligence, structuring, negotiation and documentation of such transactions.


An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vice President in the CIB Credit Risk group to provide transaction structuring, due diligence, execution and ongoing monitoring and management of the bank's credit exposure portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the credit due diligence, structuring and documentation negotiation for transactions;
  • Ongoing supervision and management of an assigned portfolio of credit clients across a range of industries;
  • Detailed review of forward looking credit analysis, along with necessary financial modelling, to provide insight into clients’ industries and the key business and financial risks they face;
  • Interact closely with transaction stakeholders including client coverage and product bankers, credit executives and legal counsel;
  • Review various credit and regulatory reporting requirements;
  • Guide and develop junior Credit team members.

Experience/ Knowledge/ Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or post graduate qualifications in accounting, business or a quantitative related discipline.
  • At least eight years of Credit experience in institutional banking or investment banking analysing leading Australian or international corporate clients;
  • Excellent credit and commercial judgment to identify key issues;
  • Strong knowledge of financing structures, including exposure to structured lending transactions and derivative products, as well as related documentation;
  • The ability to build credibility, rapport and influence lines of business and clients at all levels;
  • Able to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
