Privacy Compliance is responsible for the enterprise-wide governance program that supports oversight and implementation of data protection and privacy compliance requirements across the firm.

 

JOB FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

The Asia Privacy Compliance team is seeking an experienced individual to fill an open position in the team. The successful candidate will be responsible to oversee the effective implementation of the privacy operating model and provide privacy compliance advice/input on privacy risks involving new or changing business processes, platforms and application change projects.

 

The individual will work with, and enjoy exposure to, a broad and diverse set of stakeholders across the firm globally, including global and regional colleagues within and outside the Compliance function, multiple Lines of Business (LOBs) and other control functions.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Collating, analyzing and articulating APAC data protection regulatory requirements to stakeholders across the firm;

  • Advising LOBs, Corporate Functions and Technology groups on global privacy policy and APAC regulatory requirements in regional and global projects involving the use and cross-border transfers of personal and client information (e.g. new business initiatives, major or changes to technology application, cloud initiatives);

  • Maintaining an understanding of transfer mechanisms that must be used for cross border data transfers and support compliance with data processing, migrations and privacy regulatory registration requirements;

  • Participating in and supporting Global Privacy Office-led firm-wide privacy projects and privacy impact assessments;

  • Providing oversight of the 1st Line of Defense (LOD)’s implementation of privacy requirements;

  • Providing transparency and reporting in line the Global Privacy Framework.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify gaps within applications and transaction process
  • Knowledge of APAC regulatory requirements around Technology Risk, Data Protection, Privacy, Cloud, Outsourcing, Offshoring and Banking Secrecy;
  • At least 7 years relevant experience in risk, control, data protection and/or privacy roles (as a Compliance Officer, Information Risk Officer or Technology Risk Officer);
  • Strong execution and project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
  • Must be a team player;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • High energy and drive;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other reporting tools;
  • Located in Hong Kong.
