About the role
We are looking for a skilled Analyst Developer to work on requirements and user-system interaction analysis for deal lifecycle and workflow management of the Banking business. Our objective is to deliver a first class UX, flexible and extendible UI and new services that will leverage existing services to provide superior levels of deal straight-through-processing and efficiency as part of a wider program of re-engineering within the Banking technology group. The role is responsible for designing, coding and creating web applications, from layout to function and developing according to business specifications. Strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design, high performing and clear navigation.
The role is flexible in terms of experience required; it is suitable to Associate candidates.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the developer team to ensure they understand, and deliver, business requirements.
  • Partnering with the business to understand use cases, functional and non-functional requirements. 
  • Ensure that solutions are delivered within the strategic application framework.
  • Collaborate with other developers in a globally distributed environment.
  • Sharing of knowledge with other members of the team.
  • Provide a high level of user experience through an innovative and intuitive user interface.
  • Report progress to management.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Knowledge/experience with Java Frameworks and technologies, including Spring, Hibernate
  • Previous experience working with UI Frameworks/languages/Web Development
  • Oracle 10g/11g based RDBMS development experience using SQL, PL/SQL, writing stored procedures and triggers and performing query plan analysis
  • Candidate should have experience with REST API and JSON API
  • Familiar with Linux/Unix environment, including working with shell and other command line tools
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
  • Hands on experience in designing and developing large client facing applications
  • Experience debugging and optimizing web apps
  • Strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Principles (OOP / OOD)
  • Use object-oriented techniques and software engineering best practices including design review, code review, unit-testing, and re-factoring
  • Understanding and implementation of test-driven development
  • Strong understanding of Web architecture and technologies
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Expertise with version control systems (e.g. Subversion, Git)
  • Understanding of security principles in software development
  • Solid understanding of development using SCRUM and Agile practices
