The Team:
The CIB Global Regulatory Risk and Controls (GRR&C) team sits within the CIB Controls Office and has responsibility for providing oversight, leadership and management of regulatory agenda across CIB Operations.  This covers advocacy and regulatory change, a strategic reporting program and control of existing regulatory reporting, regulatory projects and ownership across a range of cross line of business regulatory requirements.

Role Description:

This Project Manager role will be responsible for managing multiple, large, cross line of business, cross location projects in the regulatory reporting risk and controls workstream, to ensure JPMorgan’s full compliance with the evolving legislation from regulators.
The role is based in Mumbai, India and is a part of a global regulatory risk and control team that is spread across Asia, EMEA and North America. This role provides a breadth and depth of visibility across the CIB CAO organization with extensive cross functional and cross business exposure, and the opportunity to creatively problem solve on a broad scale. This role partners extensively with the lines of businesses, Legal, Compliance, Audit, Technology and Corporate Operational Risk. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the delivery of new Trade Repository Reporting implementations or new regulatory reporting change projects
  • Detail and syndicate the business requirements of new Regulatory Reporting change projects with Operations and Technology, to allow each line of business to establish the functional/build requirements for their area to comply with new reporting regulations
  • Conduct impact assessment of regulations and communicate the regulatory change landscape to various cross asset operational teams and technology
  • Influence the shape of future regulatory technical standards (advocacy) through trade bodies, industry working groups, regulators and partnering with government affairs, legal and compliance for CAO
  • Facilitate and lead periodic calls on APAC Regulatory Changes with cross line of business stakeholders
  • Actively participate in global programs in the regulatory risk space so that Asia requirements are aligned with global initiatives including strategic architecture for regulatory reporting, regulatory reporting standards, risk assessment (recertification) and deep dives.
  • Drive the design, delivery and implementation of strong and sustainable control frameworks and operating models in the regulatory reporting environment
  • Provide oversight on regulatory reporting issues / breaches, ensuring that root causes are understood and remediation plans in place
  • Plan and report project status to senior management, identify,  mitigate  and resolve risk and issues across teams, and provide project guidance to ensure completion of assigned projects
  • Ensure high quality delivery across all projects, ensuring a right balance is maintained between quality, functionality, schedule and cost, in compliance with JPMC Project Life Cycle and Internal Processes
  • Manage stakeholder expectations effectively, facilitate decision-making by providing right level of information and timely escalation when required

  • Minimum 8 years of total experience with minimum 4 years as project manager
Essential Skills
  • Understanding of OTC Derivative products (Credit, Rates, FX, Equities and Commodities)
  • Solid understanding of the Asia regulatory environment
  • Strong execution skills and experience in the implementation of global / regional cross-functional programs
  • Logical and structured approach to planning and problem solving and decision-making
  • Effective communication skills, with an ability to negotiate and influence different levels of stakeholders in CIB LOBs and functional areas
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and deliver against deadlines
  • Significant knowledge of operational processes and controls, with good understanding of risk, controls and quality assurance functions. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with partners across multiple disciplines, functions and locations
  • Good Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Capacity to think laterally and convey an understanding of the big picture
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
