The Currencies & Emerging Markets (CEM) business is a multi asset, fast moving growth business with annual revenue of over $3bn and a significant positive SVA contribution. CEM is a major liquidity provider in Global Foreign Exchange markets and Emerging Market Fixed Income, offering pricing across approximately 300 currency pairs in cash and derivative products across 25 locations. Our currency offering extends from plain vanilla foreign exchange to exotic options. In the emerging markets, products include local currency and developed currency denominated products across emerging markets rates, foreign exchange, exotics and hybrids.


The Latin America CEM business franchise spans across 6 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia Mexico and Peru) making markets in local rates, FX and credit.  The business generated $700mm revenues in 2015 and continues to be in the top 3 Latin American fixed income franchises in the industry.


The business manager role will partner closely with the head of Andean CEM to manage the business on a day-to-day basis. The scope will include coordination among risk management; compliance; business strategy; financial management; operational planning for trade desk; product development and control.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a broad understanding of the Andean markets business in Latin America (Argentina, Chile, Colombia & Peru).
  • Develop effective partnerships with key business partners in Finance, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Risk, Marketing, Technology & Operations, as well as interact with business management colleagues in Europe and Asia.
  • Lead and implement new business initiatives (NBIA's)
  • Assist with completing transaction analytics for high value, non-standard transactions
  • Manage regulatory and control agenda
  • Research and solve internal issues as they arise
  •  Represent the business at meetings and then execute on take-always
  • Take on special projects
  • Support the CFO and senior business manager on the business review process, town halls and other business events for the desks supported.

The candidate can expect to be involved in projects across many of these areas, as business needs can shift rapidly, and tight deadlines sometimes require "full-team" efforts.


Skills required

  • Minimum of  5+ years of experience in planning, business management and project management with a capital markets business
  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced and demanding environment and must be a strategic, conceptual and analytical thinker
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Ability to create concise communication materials for senior management
  • Ability to analyze and summarize findings from large and complex data.
  • Excellent in project management disciplines and an ability to instill structure, process, accountability, delivery and client-focus
  • A broad understanding of Global Fixed Income, instruments and structured products
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of a large investment banking organization
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, high quality institution is required; MBA preferred
