The CIB Design and Re-engineering Team (DaRT) is a dedicated team of process re-engineering resources focused on senior management-sponsored change initiatives to address business, industry and client needs across Markets Operations, Banking Operations, and Technology. The DaRT team has a global footprint that supports coverage on engagements. The team is made up of ex-consultants (internal and external to JP Morgan) and industry practitioners who bring to bear a unique mix of process re-engineering, functional expertise and consulting skills.

Role Description:

The candidate joining our group will be expected to participate in high-impact strategic initiatives with senior leadership visibility. These engagements fall into 2 categories; Front-to-back efficiency reviews where the focus is on business levers that impact cost base, simplification of operating model, and standardizing and consolidating key activities; Or Creation of cross business functional Utilities where the focus is to develop strategy across Business, Technology, Operations and internal and/or external Client offering for rendering of specific services.


You will be presented with opportunities to lead work streams/ projects of specific business engagements; from assessment through articulation of recommendations and possibly execution.


The role and responsibilities of Vice President within CIB Design and Re-engineering Team will include the

  • Lead front-to-back process re-engineering reviews, focusing on business levers that impact cost base, simplification of operating models, and standardizing and consolidating key activities
  • Lead horizontal reviews, focusing on developing strategy across Business, Technology, Operations and internal and/or external Client offerings for rendering of specific services
  • Lead stakeholder engagement definition, strategy development and formulation of business hypotheses
  • Identify innovative solutions by leverage emerging technologies to solve complex business problems
  • Apply change management approaches and methodologies to drive change of operating models, standardization of technologies and streamline Operations processes.
  • Partner with representatives from across the organization including Business, Finance, Operations and Technology groups, as well as potentially working with external stakeholders
  • Serve as a key leader in building and maintaining global relationships with stakeholder groups
  • Review and develop impact analysis of technology delivery and process improvements in order to drive operational efficiencies
  • Influence direction using relevant data analysis, lead and deliver key aspects of analysis and implementation across the Corporate and Investment Bank
  • Interview senior stakeholders and document detailed understanding of business functions and process flows
  • Perform detailed data analysis, identify opportunities and obtain stakeholder buy-in, develop implementation plans
  • Seek opportunities to improve client experiences and establish market utilities

Skills Required / To Be Developed
  • In-depth knowledge of Investment Banking and multiple asset classes a plus
  • Degree educated with 5-10 years banking experience in consulting, business management, product development or investment banking
  • Experience leading large strategic process re-engineering programs across process, organization, and technology change
  • Knowledge of operations groups, including Banking  Operations, Finance Operations, and Risk and Compliance
  • Knowledge of the financial services landscape, including risk and controls, utilities and vendors
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean and Six Sigma techniques
  • Experience leading Front-to-Back and Horizontal deep-dives
  • Experience performing large scale data analysis and manipulation, leveraging common and niche tooling to model and surface key data interpretations
  • Experience developing target operating models
  • Working knowledge of new product development
