Derivative Operations provides operational support across the CIB covering eight key product areas including FX, OTC Derivatives, Collateral Principal, 3rd Party Derivatives, Cleared Derivatives, Agency Collateral, Billing and CASS with ~1,900 employees.  Services provided to our Businesses include:
  • Transaction Processing, Confirmation, Settlement and Clearing, Collateral Management, Client Service, Invoicing and CASS Support
  • Typical daily activity includes settling in excess of $217B via FX trading, leading a Markets OTC portfolio of 2.5M trades, servicing >200 3rd party clients, performing 10,000 margin calls, processing 470k cleared and intermediated trades and producing >9,000 invoices
Global Clearing Operations supports Clearing, Reconciliations, Middle Office, F&O House Ops, Expiries & Deliveries, Settlement, Brokerage, Client On-boarding, Client Money, Regulatory Reporting, Static Data Management and Position Management.

Position Description:
The Middle Office group’s primary responsibility is to provide an efficient service and query resolution for all exchange-traded derivatives and OTC products to both internal and external clients of JP Morgan. JP Morgan is a clearing member on 60 Futures & Options exchanges globally and is rapidly expanding its OTC offering under our CIB group.  This role is primarily focused upon derivative products. These include Fixed Income Securities, Equities, FX & Oil, Gas, Metals, Metals and Agricultural. It is helpful that the candidate has some knowledge of the majority of these markets. The person should have some understanding of the physical delivery of contracts including fixed income, equity & commodities.  This role would suit someone looking for a flexible working opportunity.
Services include:
  • Primary point of contact for all OTC bookings, and risk and limits resolution
  • Supporting clients through the post-trade lifecycle of all trades, including settlements, exercise/assignment activities and physical deliveries
  • Understanding client trades for fixed income, money market, foreign exchange, commodity and equity-related futures and options on exchanges worldwide;
  • Understanding our OTC client coverage across the FX, Rates and CDS products.
  • Providing operational information about client’s transactions in flexible and responsive electronic or paper formats.
The Specialist is responsible for and/or ensuring that:
  • He/she is building strong relationships with all clients and offering an optimum client experience across all product groups;
  • He/she has extensive knowledge of the products and the exchange rules covered by the team and is aware of the functions of the whole team
  • He/she should be an important point of contact for the group from client relationship point of view
  • All trade and position breaks are escalated in a timely basis
  • He/she should be aware of the appropriate escalation procedures when issues are raised
  • He/she reviews and checks production output from a control aspect
  • Processes are reviewed regularly and where possible make suggestions for greater efficiency
  • All procedures are kept up to date and easily accessible
  • Participating in and contributing to UAT, global projects and initiatives
  • Any ad hoc requests of the team are dealt with in an appropriate manner
  • All communications to clients and internal stakeholders are always clear and concise
Essential Skills:
A Specialist should possess the following skills:
  • F&O Knowledge – (some Market & Product Knowledge for North American & European markets would be advantageous)
  • OTC knowledge – experience across the IRS, FX or CDS businesses would be beneficial
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and accurately, whilst remaining focused on ‘the big picture’
